The Scepter Prophecy - The First Lemma and the Second Staff
In Genesis 49, 10 is the famous scepter prophecy. These references are not merely predictions of a negative state of affairs that would obtain at some later time. Rather, they are part and parcel of good things, positive things, the blessings that God intended to confer upon Abraham's line. The language throughout verses 8 through 12 in Genesis 49 promises peace, prosperity, and uncontested dominion.
