Intro

In July 1978, Ferede Aklum, a Jewish teacher from Ethiopia, escapes a Marxist regime and treks through the desert to Sudan as an undocumented refugee. Desperate to seek help from American Jewish organizations, he makes sacrifices, including selling his wedding ring, to send a telegram that could alter his future.
