The Mothers of the Civil Rights Movement
The mothers of malcolm x, james baldwin and martin luther king junior. I decided on these three mothers specifically because the civil rights movement is so often spoken about from the angle of male leaders. This role of motherhood is so under appreciated, overlooked, and really deserves more recognition. i started my peach d just wanting to correct erasure of black women's lives and black women's stories.
