If God is the mechanism that created this whole thing, I think a lot of people see God in religious sense. As that mechanism also being able to communicate with the objects it creates. For me, God could be the causal graph and assembly theory that creates all the stuff that the memories we know. If you if you merged your two views, then it gets back to the God is the universe.
