Were We Missing Something in the Early Years?

There's always been that fear on the part of my generation, n the builder generation, of drifting back to a social gospel. So what do you think, if you could reflect critically on the early years? You said, for the first 30 years, what did we miss as an evangelical church in those years? i went back and read john stott's on christian mission, which was published, i think, 19 72 or so.
