I was not taught to think about lifestyle interventions in medical school. People probably teach it less. They're more into the reductionist science. It's crazy. The diabetes prevention program trial is so striking. Why don't we have a trial like you said, paid for by Pfizer or AstraZeneca or whatever statin manufacturer wants to manufacture their statin which does. Mediterranean diet versus Lipitor, Torvastatin, Resuba statin versus control that would be a cool try. I mean, the FDA is funded the division of the FDA that addresses human products and 61% of its funding comes from drug companies.

Today on the podcast, Paul talks with John Abramson, American physician, lecturer at Harvard, and author of the books, Overdosed America: The Broken Promise of American Medicine and Sickening: How Big Pharma Broke American Health Care and How We Can Repair It.
