A Brief History of the French Expedition to Egypt
French explorer marthan de bonchamp set out to colonize ethiopia in 1898. He spent 14 months travelling across the country, but never reached his destination. A flotilla of five british gunboats arrived at fashoda with 15 hundred soldiers led by kitchener. Kitchener apparently toasted marchan with whisky, and the french drank it.
