The Prestre John Mythology

Prestre John was a legendary king who ruled in a Christian land in the Orient. Pope Alexander III even sent a letter to Prestre John, even though he didn't know where to address it. King John II plotted out his exploration of Africa, aiming to find a new route to Asia and perhaps the kingdom of Prestre John. Bartolomu Diaz would be appointed the command of the fleet with the goal to charter route to Asia.
