Great ideas don't often start out as giant things. All these large companies a actually started as really small projects. The one twist on this that i recommend people stay focused on is you should have a line of sight to what is a good market. Do not be too afraid if it looks silly and humble, but just make sure that the market you're operating in could be giant.
