And so whenever a conversation starts in America, and BLM is a good example of this, it's sort of imported wholesale here. So yes, in that sense, I agree with you. But also that we need to take the wider frame into account too. The importance of what I call social pessimism in shaping the way we look at race and identity is as significant in Britain as it is in America.
