The Importance of Income Mobility
The average poor American for a very long time has had a dishwasher air conditioning cable or satellite television. You find there's tremendous income mobility if you back up and have a long enough time horizon. We do have a problem, but we don't have a big problem with what we might call a permanent underclass.
