GE's T 700 helicopter engine powered the Black Hawk after its adoption in 1978. They also made the engines for basically all of the helicopters that the United States used to annihilate large chunks of jungle in Vietnam. At the height of the Vietnam War, they made more than $1.6 billion a year in military contracts. GE was one of the top 10 largest contractors used by the US government to make nuclear weapons over the course of the Cold War.
