The Training of African Midwives
In the late 19 20 there were nearly ten of them, which is an important figuread considering the number of medical doctors in the colony and general. And they, interestingly, all of them were recruited specifically for maternal and ti preventive work. But most of them didn't particularly like it, and an so much or so little, so that in the early thirties, they wrote a petition saying that they would rather be involved in puritive and medical work like their male counterparts,. wit ol colleagues.
