Private Equity in Congress: The Industry's Strongest Advocates
Since 1990, the industry has given over $896 million to congressional candidates and members. This region of money has been bipartisan with Republicans getting more than Democrats. The interesting thing is that they also have a really deep bench of people from government working on their behalf. It's hard to limit any sort of place meaningful limits on outside spending for campaign and related issues.
