Is There a Discipline and a Comic Study?

Comic studies is very varied a discipline, if it's even a discipline. Most of the comic studies programs or classes thatex prior tend to come out of english departments or a film studies maybe,. So ours doesn't. And i think the more i teach the more I try to foreground the play element and the hands on element as the way we figured things out. It's not about skill. It's about making these things through our thinking and and showing people how much they already know. Like your biology student could go back to the biology department and start making comics about what you've learned in class. A sow, i think we're slowly headed that way.
