Is There a Way to Stop Russians From Running to China?

There are multiple areas around the world where russian and chinese interests don't aline all that well. But ukraine has the potential to be either the great force that pushes them together, or potentially a gigantic wedge to drive them apart. So what else can the united states and the west do to spurring more division between china and russia? I think we're already doing that to an extent.
