The goal of the effect system is to internalize a decade's worth of learnings about how to build portability libraries. It uses grand central dispatch, an maco s and i o s, and it uses i o c p subsystem, an windows. All o these things happen invisibly inside the io sub system, wridden in a camel. But as a programmer, you just write normal, straight line code, and the affect system takes care of all that for you. So it's a very, very exciting frontier for what's coming in o camel in the future.
