Jim Simons was the third largest financial supporter of Hillary Clinton in 2016. He worked with Bob Mercer, who may be the most important reason why Donald Trump is in the office because he helped put Kellyanne Conway and more importantly, Steve Bannon in the campaign. What Bob Mercer was doing did eventually hurt morale within the firm. But they did work together for a long time, and despite political disagreements, they're fastened just characters within the firm and people who have worked there.
