The Paradox of Russian Culture

In Ukraine, Tarrasz-Shofchenko is a very profoundly popular. He's cherished in universities, in cities, etc. And Russia lacked it, I think. Therefore, we have a paradoxical situation that Russian culture is actually very elitist. It's not popular at all. This makes the people so much cruel and kind of uncultivated. But on the other hand, this also explains why Russian intelligentsia is so helpless. Because basically, they're feeling helpless. In a way, this explains what is happening now. Why there is silence? Why there is not no protest against the war?"
