The Arguments Against Underdeterminism
There are two kinds of arguments against the problem of underdetermination. One is that we don't have a perfect example and we can't arbitrarily generate one. The other route is appealing to what folks will call theoretical virtues that are non-impirical, so simplicity or fruitfulness in order to decide between rival theories.
