The Occult and the Christian Charisma
The modern world and modern theology basically ended up on the denial side of those two eras that Lewis was talking about. So we take this kind of irrational leap to grab a hold of something, which is where your things like the occult come in. And I think some variations of even the Christian charismatic movement can go in this without the kind of proper tempering not of a modernist theology but a sound or biblical container.
