Irma Zadetsky Kardos's Theory About the Bathery Case
In the series on bathery, i cited the work of a hungarian researcher irma zadetsky kardosh. She has developed one of the most elaborate theories concerning how elizabeth bathry got caught up in a larger scheme to discredit the powerful bathery family in general. So what was the big thing i left out? Well, this researcher has proposed that, far from being a killer, elizabeth bathery was actually a healer. The healing practices imported from transylvania were perhaps mistaken as forms of torture. And so the women who died were simply those who could not be cured by bathery and her attendants.
