The Benefits of Prioritizing the Needs of Others
There's a lot of false alternatives under these kinds of issues when the question is dealt with like this. A market successful product is, you know, the return to the investor. But there's no such thing as a return to the whole society. The whole society isn't a thing that has profits or well-being. When people are rational and productive they benefit other human beings. You're working for your own goals but if you're in a productive line of work, I mean, am I working for the needs of my students when I teach? Well, kind of. And part of what you do is meet the needs. There's no clash, I think, when you do that
