The Importance of Formalism in AI Design

The real challenge is to look much more deeply into the technical aspects. What does it mean really in terms of the design of an architecture or a training schedule, etc., setting parameters and so forth? So can we say things that are much more formal? Can we develop things that have some theoretical aspects? Let me give you one example.
