As soon as you start going to the realm of comparing yourself or attributes you have or don't have, you put yourself in a really precarious position. We control for different factors of ourselves that we do or don't want to present to the world because we would like to control how people see us so that we ultimately are not at risk for not belonging. That's super important. In belonging and shame, which I'll leave to Breday Brown because she's a genius and I love her. But it's a huge part of the comparison game. It can foster a lot of shame, right? You know, oh, my life isn't this way. I will never find a partner
