The Importance of Consequentialism
The philosopher says there are different forms of consequentialism. He argues that if it's clear that one act will have better consequences, all things considered than any outcome, he'd be prepared to say that that act is the right thing to do. But people who think that there are some moral rules which we ought never to break, no matter what the consequences,. That's not a view that I accept. It's not so self-evident that the consequentialist view is right that one can just state it and everybody will see it to be right.
