What's the Difference?
You weren't giving a straightforward account of your own assessment to the House of Commons about what you really thought about this deal. Anybody who stands at the dispatch box is giving an account of what the government feels. And there's a difference between being a cabinet minister describing a government position and what I described was the government position with some personal nuances. The truth is that probably 95% of what government does and decides and argues about is never actually discussed in the media, on the news or even breaks cover.
