Is There a Recurrence of Infection?

The patient was discharged on three weeks of vancomycin followed with labs and outpatient follow-up. He was actually transitioned to doxycycline after three weeks to complete his course. And initially, his symptoms had improved. But then at six-week follow-up appointment, he described new radiating, lightning-like pain down his left leg.
