How Did the War End?
The two sides dug in for a brutal four-month siege. After months of fighting and hundreds of deaths, Entiope emerges as the one figure who can bring the two sides together. She encourages her Amazon sisters to lay down their arms and negotiate with the besieged Athenians. Solomon oaths were sworn in a temple known as the Horkomosium,. The Athenians agreed that every year before the Feast of Thesis, they would make a sacrifice to the gods in the name of the Amazons. That's the happy ending. We're told that Entiope slew many of her Amazon sisters before being laid low by a dart, slung by an Amazon named Melop
