The Ambiguity of Witch Trials
The most famous ones that I had been most familiar with were like in Bamberg and Würzburg and these sort of areas. Almost half of all the witch trials don't end an execution so it's not an inevitable road to the stake. In reality almost anyone could be accused of witchcraft men, younger women, married women, children even that really makes the whole crime very difficult to grapple with.
