The Power of Character in Storytelling

Dan: Role playing helped me become a storyteller because it taught me, I mean, if people understood what role playing really was, they would push their kids into it. Brandon: Sometimes you need to be willing to wing it in your fiction. You get to a point and you say, you know what, this next point that I have, that I planned out is really, really lame. And the characters really wouldn't do this. What would they do? That's also who I role play. As a GM though, being a GM helps a lot, being the game master and guiding the story.
