The most powerful idea i found throughout is a kind of flattening of all of these forms of american judaism as modern projects. The passions for America that run through out curiosiole are pronounced in the forms of political participation. There was a lot we didn't talk about to day, around poverty, around race, so much more uncertainly about law.
