Is There a Flat Earth?

The flat earth is the thing that we can establish as being more real than anything else. When i think of a flat earth, if that's actually we are saying that it's a flat disk, the way i understand gravity is that it's always attracting towards the centre of its mass. So what should happen for a sphere to compress into a sphere? Since it's not symmetrical, since it ought to start compress - and I guess this was alluding to the tortion about the centre of mass, which always exists.
