Boyd K Packer said let's stop calling it free. It is moral agency and there is a consequence attached to the use of our agency. How about this one? Judgment versus love. You have to give them another chance because otherwise you're judging. If we think that we can't judge then we don't protect ourselves from evil people. We need to act as Lee Heisz in Second Nephi 2 and not to be acted upon consistently by evil people.
