The History of Bake While Pudding

Bake while pudding is actually a much older pudding than when it started to be called bake while pudding. First recipe I could find that looked like a bake while pudding is in Eliza Smith's complete housewife from 1737. The legend goes that the bake while pudding was basically invented by mistake, but it's just not true because the pudding already existed before that.
