The Importance of Owning a Home

Every piece of property in the United States is owned. So if you rent a house instead of owning the house, you're renting the house from an owner. The ownership is not the issue. It is that there was this theory back in the terrible old days of the 1980s when public housing projects and various other things were turning into the marginal houses. But it does not make practical sense because the commitment of owning a home is a little like getting a pet.
