The German Environmentalism of the 1980s
The 1980s German environmentalism gets a pretty bad rap in some circles today, right? Like especially for I think kind of like entrenching some anti-nuclear sentiments definitely within the country and also plausibly more internationally. And so there's this idea that well, what if we had both? What if we had nuclear power that can help deal with some of the intermittance of sunshine and wind? In a lot of ways that makes sense. But the politics of it don't aren't well suited to this kind of diverse portfolio of technologies that work well in a new kind of energy system.
