The Governor's Budget Isn't the One That's Going to Go

The mayor would be supportive of expanding charter schools, but he just wants the money to come with it for rent. He says it's $1.3 billion new costs to the city of New York each and every year. And I'm telling you, given how much we are investing in K through 12 and the growth we've seen, we don't intend to give him that money. So he doesn't have it. He doesn't want to spend it and he's not getting it from us.
