The Importance of Fun in Chess
The reason why ginger GM's rating often dips below 2500 is that he is not trying to win quite a lot of them sometimes years. By the way, he was recently in an amazing game in Iceland, Reykjavik open, where he not only had fun, but it was a devastating victory. Now, this, I don't know if I can speak for him, but this commentating during the game and recording a video and then making money out of the videos or whatever, this is really bad for achieving the best play because you're distracting yourself all the time.
