Automated Vehicle Safety - Is There Really a Magic Bullet for Answering That Question?

There is no crystal clear, easily digestible definition of safety for autonomous vehicle deployments. It would be very helpful to combine whatever indicators we have and share them in a somewhat transparent process. There is within the safety literature some new thinking about safety one and safety two. But there are ways to shape messages that address how well an automated vehicle is performing.
