The Concept of Voltage and Potential Difference
Voltage or potential difference represents the amount of energy per unit charge that you would have to exert in order to move the charges from point A to point B. The way a battery produces a potential difference is essentially by a chemical reaction within the battery and therefore I can use that to basically generate a current between the negative and the positive side. We'll talk more about the details of our current in a future episode because so far we haven't talked too much about currents, mostly just static charges and fields and so on.
