Lennon and the Quarrymen
Lennon invited McCartney to join the Quarrymen after he failed his exams. The band had been formed while they were all at Quarrybank Grammar School. But that summer Lennon moved on to art school and started hanging out with George Harrison, who was in the same year as him. This put Lennon in a quandary - could he make the group better or keep control but not have someone of such magical abilities?
