Medieval Philosophy

Ruseven: Mediaeval philosophers engage with an earlier tradition, i think that everybody does. They felt maybe a dontological sort of necessity to deal with these things. It's the way they express their creativity by dealing with authoritative passages and coming up with ways of balancing them out. And so may be maybe what we should say is that at least the mediaevals were conscious that they were doing.
