Gravitational Waves and the BICEF Experiment

Gravitational waves are a prediction of Einstein's perspective, of general relativity. They describe waves of gravitational energy moving through space. And anything that interacts then with those waves is going to be affected by it. The level of the signal that they've seen is almost at the upper level of what the theories of inflation would predict.
