The Blood of the Covenant

Jesus, as a Messiah, is inaugurating by his death the new covenant which had been prophesied by Jeremiah in Jeremiah chapter 31 verses 31 to 34. In this passage, God is presenting a new covenant that would bring restoration and forgiveness of sin. Also going back to Jesus' words in Mark 14, his words that his blood is poured out for many, harque back to Isaiah's prophecy of the servant of the Lord in Isaiah chapter 53.
