LZ Granderson: I had a very specific list of things that I was supposed to do according to my Latino parents. He says they said graduate from school with good grades, preferably grades high enough to get a full scholarship. LZ: Then go and get a good job, preferably one that has a pension and go live your life. And so he went into the STEM field because his father was an engineer. But by the time he was 27, he was like ready to drive his car off a bridge metaphoricallybecause he hated his entire life.
