The Hunter-Gathering Approach to Child Rearing
Hunter-gatherers don't generally even have a word for teaching, but of course they teach in a certain sense. If children are making bows and arrows, an adult nearby may point out a better way to shape the arrow. But only if the child is interested. They aren't going to force the child to practice making arrowheads if the child doesn't want to do that. The belief is that children know what is best for them. This may differ from child to child.
