In 100 BC there's a consular election in the city of Rome and two demagogic figures who are associated with the consul at that moment guys named Glauky and Saturn join us. Glaukya mobilizes his supporters they go in they disrupt the counting of the votes they kill the opponent and then they retreat out of the campus marshes onto the capital line and they barricade themselves there. These are his allies you know he owes some of the most important political victories that he's won in recent years to these people.
