Drinking Red Wine Can Be Good for You

Red wine contains lots of polyphenols, compounds found in fruit and veg that are good for our health. Studies show having wine with a meal is much better for you than having it at other times. New research suggests one of the ways the polyphenols in red wine might benefit us is via the impact on our gut bacteria. The first day was match day, football day. I've asked Steve to swap out his usual drink for a small glass of red wine - but leave a day or two between drinking sessions. It's going to be strange for them but it's also going to be different for me. We'll see how he fares next week.
