Contica: A Novel About a Jewish Family in Istanbul
Contica was inspired by my maternal grandmother, Rebecca's migration story. Her journey took her to Spain and then to the US by way of Cuba And the historical context and locations of the novel He drew pretty closely to her real life, but I also did make a decision to tell it as a novel. So why did you decide to name the novel Kantiga, which means song in Latino or Judeo Spanish?
